Challenge: Ensuring USB-C® compliance for next-gen automotive infotainment

A major automotive manufacturer was preparing to launch a next-generation infotainment system across its global vehicle lineup. With the EU’s USB Type-C® mandate approaching, the company needed to ensure that its system would be fully compliant with the latest USB standards, interoperable with a wide range of third-party devices and capable of delivering fast, safe charging to passengers’ phones and tablets.

Our approach: Comprehensive USB-C compliance and interoperability testing

The manufacturer partnered with Resillion to conduct a full suite of USB testing, including:

• USB 3.2 Gen 1×1 and Gen 2×1 compliance testing for embedded hosts and hubs.
• Charging interoperability validation across more than 300 USB source/sink/data products.
• USB Power delivery and charging mode transition testing to ensure a seamless user experience.
• Mechanical stress and durability testing to simulate real-world usage in vehicles.
• EMI/EMC compliance checks to prevent interference with other in-vehicle electronics.

Results: Certified USB-C compliance and enhanced in-vehicle connectivity
