Resillion expands wireless power portfolio with Ki Cordless Kitchen Tools

Following its approval by the Wireless Power Consortium as an authorised test laboratory for Ki Cordless Kitchen, Resillion is broadening its wireless power portfolio even further. Resillion will now develop, supply and maintain Ki Cordless Kitchen testing and development tools for manufacturers across the global electronics industry.

These tools, originally designed by Philips to help create the Ki Cordless Kitchen Standard, are essential for manufacturers developing cordless kitchen appliances.

Using Ki technology, kitchen appliance makers can design interoperable products with power levels up to 2200 Watt – such as kettles, blenders and airfryers – that deliver a more convenient, safer, cordless and clutter-free kitchen experience. At the same time Ki Cordless Kitchen enables modern kitchen designs without sockets.

Bob Campbell, Global Head of Conformance and Interoperability said “Through this new agreement with Philips, Resillion will continue the development, commercialisation and long-term maintenance of these tools in line with future specifications. This new agreement puts Resillion at the forefront of innovation in the smart home appliance sector, supporting the global adoption of the Wireless Power Consortium’s (WPC) Ki Cordless Kitchen standard”.

“Philips is pleased to transfer the Ki Cordless Kitchen Test and Development Tools to Resillion. Leveraging their strong expertise in testing, development and maintenance for such tools, as well as providing services to their customers by using these tools, we are confident Resillion will not only safeguard but also advance these tools in alignment with evolving Ki specifications for the future”, said Jako Eleveld, Head of IP Licensing at Philips

Paul Struhsaker, WPC Executive Director added: “The launch of Ki tools by Resillion is a major step toward making cordless kitchens a reality. This will give kitchen appliance makers the testing and development support they need to bring interoperable, consumer-ready products to market.”

As one of only two globally recognised labs authorised to test and certify Ki Cordless Kitchen products to carry the Ki logo of compliance, Resillion is uniquely positioned to help kitchen appliance manufacturers speed up the adoption of this new standard developed by the members of the same organisation that put the Qi standard in the market for wireless charging of mobile phones.
